The University of Georgia is seeking an Associate CIO for Student Information Systems. This position creates a technology vision and provides overall leadership for development, implementation, and maintenance of integrated enterprise-wide information system solutions.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent plus 12 years of professional experience, including 5 years of supervisory experience. Preferred qualifications include 5 years of higher education experience, 3-5 years of Banner student system experience, and experience with SaaS-based Enterprise Student Systems.
Responsibilities
Lead and direct the work of EITS teams responsible for the ongoing support, enhancement, and integration of the UGA enterprise student information system (Banner and related products). Ensure reliability, performance, and alignment with institutional goals. Approve business technology and human resources plans for assigned areas. Meet regularly with teams to review work status, identify obstacles, and provide coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback. Oversee all vendor management activities, ensuring adherence to UGA policies and best practices around change management, security, and system integrity. Work closely with the Core Student Advisory Committee (CSAC) on the student information system, providing upgrade timelines, implementation plans, and technical guidance. Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Identity Management team, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable identity solutions that support students, faculty, and staff. Initiate and ensure implementation of improvement processes that enhance customer satisfaction, user experience, and organizational relationships. Proactively explore and assess AI-driven opportunities that inform better decisions, improve user experiences, and increase operational efficiency across SIS and the broader UGA community.
