The Associate CIO for Student Information Systems creates a technology vision and provides the overall leadership for development, implementation, and on-going maintenance of integrated enterprise-wide information system solutions, including coordination and facilitation of an integrated, commercial packaged student information system (BANNER and related products) at a very large, research-oriented institution. Oversees services provided to internal and external customers across the enterprise. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies: Strong knowledge of the Banner student information system. People skills or equivalent professional development skills around leadership. Physical Demands:

Duties/Responsibilities: Student Information Systems Leadership: Leads and directs the work of EITS teams responsible for ongoing support, enhancement, and integration of the UGA enterprise student information system (Banner and related products). Ensures reliability, performance, and alignment with institutional goals. Strategic Planning And Team Development: Approves business technology and human resources plans for assigned areas. Meets regularly with teams to review work status, identify obstacles, and provide coaching, guidance, and feedback. Encourages staff to identify, pilot, and adopt AI-powered solutions that improve team performance, reduce manual workload, and enhance service delivery. Vendor And Partner Management: Oversees all vendor management activities, ensuring adherence to policies around change management, security, and system integrity. Core Student Advisory Collaboration: Works with the Core Student Advisory Committee (CSAC) on the SIS, providing upgrade timelines, implementation plans, and technical guidance. Collaborates with CSAC on technical solutions and university-wide initiatives. Identity And Access Management Oversight: Provides leadership for Identity Management to support secure and scalable solutions for students, faculty, and staff. Continuous Improvement And Innovation: Implements processes to improve customer satisfaction and user experience; explores AI opportunities; supports transition to SaaS-based enterprise systems; coaches teams on decision-making and IT/business alignment. Cross-IT Collaboration And Goal Alignment: Creates synergies across IT areas to support enterprise goals; aligns objectives with UGA’s priorities; oversees performance management. Institutional Partnership And Strategy: Partners with senior leaders to support an integrated SIS, infrastructure, and business strategy; engages stakeholders to deliver improvements and sustainable upgrades.
