AIP is seeking a Cook II to work in Miami, FL. The Cook I assists the Cook II in preparing and serving food and beverages. The Cook I may work independently or assist with various duties to ensure smooth facility operation. Join our team of professionals by applying today!
Responsibilities
Prepare a variety of foods in quantities using different cooking methods, including soups, sauces, meats, fish, vegetables, and baked goods. Prepare foods for special diets. Plan cooking schedules to ensure food is ready at the prescribed times. Ensure timely delivery of food. Measure, mix, stir, cut, grind, chop, and season ingredients according to recipes. Test foods for doneness and adjust heat as needed. Monitor baking, roasting, broiling, frying, and steaming processes. Carve and portion foods into servings. Assist in equipment training for detainees. Monitor daily food production operations for quality, safety, and sanitation. Review menus to determine food quantities and types to prepare. Retrieve cooking utensils from storage. Load and unload delivery trucks as needed. Perform other assigned duties. Qualifications
US citizen or lawful permanent resident who has resided in the U.S. for the last five years. High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Pass criminal background and credit checks (no criminal record). Obtain and maintain DHS/ICE clearance. Pass pre-employment and random drug tests. Pass medical examination and meet health requirements. At least 21 years old. Ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural sensitivity. Good interpersonal skills to deal tactfully with the public. Ability to understand written and verbal instructions, policies, and regulations. Good judgment, alertness, and temperament in responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in large-scale cooking. Bilingual skills. Job Details
