AIP is seeking a Cook II to work in Miami, FL. The Cook II will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of foods, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The role involves planning cooking schedules, preparing foods for special diets, monitoring food preparation, and assisting in kitchen operations. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience, the ability to work with diverse populations, and meet specific legal and health requirements. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of foods using different cooking methods Prepare foods for special diets Plan cooking schedules for timely service Ensure food delivery at prescribed times Measure, mix, chop, season ingredients according to recipes Test foods for doneness and adjust cooking as needed Monitor baking, roasting, broiling, frying, and steaming processes Carve and portion foods appropriately Assist in training detainees on equipment use Maintain quality, safety, and sanitation standards in food production Review menus to determine food quantities and types Manage kitchen utensils and supplies Load and unload delivery trucks as required Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident residing in the U.S. for the last five years High school diploma or GED No criminal record; pass background and credit checks Obtain and maintain DHS/ICE clearance Pass drug tests and medical examinations At least 21 years old Ability to work with diverse populations and communicate effectively Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Good judgment, alertness, and temperament Preferred Qualifications Experience in large-scale cooking Bilingual skills Additional Information Job ID: 2025-17815 Work Type: On-Site About AIP Akima Infrastructure Protection (AIP), part of an Alaska Native Corporation, supports federal projects and shareholder communities in Alaska.
