A premier full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney to join their team. The firm represents public schools, community colleges, educational institutions, and public entities, and is looking for a skilled attorney to handle civil litigation matters.
The successful candidate will have a J.D. from an accredited law school, an active license to practice in California, and recent civil litigation experience with full case management responsibilities. Experience in education law, labor and employment litigation, insurance defense, civil rights, municipal law, or public entity defense is also desirable.
Responsibilities
Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including administrative hearings, state and federal court actions, and mediation/arbitration Handle cases involving employment law, construction defects, student rights and discipline, public contracting, personal injury, and constitutional claims Draft and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment and other dispositive motions Take and defend depositions; prepare clients and witnesses for testimony Provide strategic legal guidance and risk management counsel directly to clients Appear before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, OCR, Civil Rights Department, Labor Commissioner, and others Collaborate with a cross-functional legal team focused solely on education law Benefits
