The Student Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative and clerical support to the Department of Institutional Research & Effectiveness (DIRE). This role ensures the smooth operation of departmental processes by assisting with data management, communications, scheduling, and special projects. By supporting staff in routine administrative functions, the Student Administrative Assistant allows the department to dedicate more time and resources to advancing its mission of fostering a culture of data-informed decision-making at Morehouse College.

Base pay range $13.00/hr - $15.00/hr

Responsibilities

Clerical Support: Manage filing systems (digital and physical), handle incoming/outgoing correspondence, and assist with document preparation.

Scheduling & Coordination: Support meeting coordination, reserve spaces, prepare agendas, and take minutes as needed.

Data Entry & Recordkeeping: Enter, update, and organize departmental data and records to support reporting functions.

Communication: Assist with drafting email correspondence, proofreading documents, and distributing departmental communications.

Event & Project Support: Provide logistical support for departmental workshops, presentations, and campus-wide initiatives.

Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, answer phones, and provide frontline support to faculty, staff, and students seeking information.

Other Duties as Assigned: Support special projects and other responsibilities that arise in the course of department operations.

Qualifications

General Qualifications

Must be a currently enrolled Morehouse College student in good academic standing.

Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive data and information.

Specific Qualifications

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy in clerical work and data entry.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

Customer service orientation and a willingness to learn.
