Job Summary Under general supervision, perform set-up, alignment, build, inspection, operation and test of electro-optical, electro-mechanical, laser and optical assemblies, from small sub-assemblies to completed integrated systems, while adhering to applicable Quality Systems Procedures. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties listed below are performed on a daily basis, therefore consistent and regular attendance is required. Essential Duties
Setup, build and alignment of electro-optical, electro-mechanical, laser and optical components and subassemblies
Cleans and installs high power laser optical components
Performs optical alignment; optimizes and fixes alignment of optics components
Troubleshooting, rework and integration of lasers, electronics and optical components
Varied work including electronics test and calibration, cable/harness installation and test, electro-optical and electro-mechanical assembly and test
Read, interpret and redline (as needed) blue prints, engineering change orders, schematics, assembly aids, non-conformance reports and repair instructions
Complies with all safety regulations to ensure a safe and clean work environment
Complies with Trimedyne Quality Management System including the quality policy, quality systems procedures, work instructions and proper documentation procedures
Other Responsibilities
Assembles, aligns, and tests assemblies and final product to support schedules
Responsible for completing the necessary paperwork related to material movement
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Experience and Skill/Ability Requirements 1. Minimum Education Required:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
Electrical or Optical Technician degree preferred
2. Minimum Experience Required:
Two to five years laser electro-optical assembly and test experience, including laser alignment, gluing, cleaning, soldering, test, and FQC, preferably in medical device manufacturing, or
equivalent combination of education and experience
3. Skills and Abilities Required:
Good hand-eye coordination in the use of a variety of hand tools and precision measuring equipment, including microscopes and optical alignment fixtures
Close, distance, color & peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Ability to read and comprehend drawings, schematics, diagrams and work instructions
Ability to understand and carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form
Good organization skills and attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication skills required to follow written and verbal instructions; proficiency in the documentation of procedures, data and records
Ability to verify correct wiring and basic functionality of various sub-assemblies
Knowledge of standard optical test equipment
Basic computer skills, including common office applications
Typical Working Conditions Employees are regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and occasionally exposed to the risk of laser radiation. Employees occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
