Faculty - College of Science and Mathematics Open Rank Tenure-Track Faculty Position(s) in the Department of Computer Science The Department of Computer Science at Rowan University seeks to hire one or more tenure-track faculty to begin their appointment in September 2025. This is a unique opportunity to join the fastest-growing department at the third fastest-growing public research institution, as recognized by The Chronicle of Higher Education. The Department values diversity as a factor in academic excellence. The candidate’s preferred research areas include Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, VR/AR technologies, and closely related fields. Rowan University offers a unique opportunity for research collaborations. New faculty are encouraged to explore connections within the Department and the College of Science & Mathematics, as well as with Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine, the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering, and other colleges at the university. Successful candidates are expected to: Conduct high-quality research and publish their results in highly regarded conferences and journals. Develop and maintain an independent, externally funded, and sustainable research program. Teach core and elective computer science courses and develop new courses of interest in emerging areas. Mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Contribute to service activities that further collective mission and vision at the department, college, and university levels. A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field is required. Candidate(s) will be hired at a level commensurate with experiences (ranging from Assistant Professor to Full Professor). A proven record (for Associate and Full Professor positions) or outstanding potential (for Assistant Professor positions) for developing sustainable, externally funded research programs and a strong commitment to excellence in both research and teaching are expected from successful candidates. Ideal candidates are those who embrace interdisciplinary collaboration, work well in multidisciplinary student and faculty teams, support diversity, equity, and inclusion, and have excellent communication skills. Statement of research interests, including future research goals and plans for obtaining external funding to achieve those goals. Statement of teaching philosophy and interests that includes the overview of the candidate’s commitment to inclusive teaching and mentoring practices.
