Ready to suit up as a Security Response Officer - Patrol
Site Location: Portland, Oregon
Set schedule: Varies: Monday & Tuesday, 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Graveyard, 16 Hours
Competitive hourly wage of $24.80 / Hour (DailyPay is available for GardaWorld employees!)

As a casual Security Officer – Response, your role will vary depending on the day and special event. Whether it’s customer service, patrols, or surveillance, we need you to adapt with agility and precision.

Responsibilities for Security Response Officer - Patrol
Provide a presence of safety by conducting bicycle patrols and walking, especially in areas with higher rates of crime.
Be comfortable riding a bike for the majority of the shift
Be a fast thinker and quickly engage in problem-solving
Maintain a daily log and file incident reports
Abide by Oregon State law and Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) certification standards
Be highly competent with extensive experience in visitor and crowd management, street-level interaction and problem solving, and serving the public in a downtown urban environment
Prevent and defuse potentially volatile situations, know how to handle potentially dangerous situations, and make sound use of force decisions
Engage safely and effectively with persons participating in criminal behavior
Conduct themselves as goodwill ambassadors representing the City of Portland, the SmartPark Garage system, Portland Downtown Heliport, and Streetcar Facilities, providing information and assistance to downtown visitors
Write incident reports suitable for inclusion in police reports and for presentation in court proceedings; demonstrate experience in providing testimony in criminal court and other legal proceedings
Work safely and competently alongside law enforcement officers during routine patrols, criminal investigations, and emergencies
Qualifications for Security Response Officer - Patrol
Be authorized to work in the U.S.
Be able to provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED
Be able to pass an extensive screening process
Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations
Responsive and strong problem-solving skills
Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience
Valid driver’s license
Clean driving record
Must be 21 or older
