You will provide a presence of safety by conducting bicycle patrols and walking, especially in areas with higher crime rates. You are comfortable riding a bike for the majority of your shift. You are a fast thinker and quickly engage in problem-solving. You will maintain a daily log and file incident reports. You will abide by Oregon State law and Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) certification standards. You are highly competent with visitor and crowd management, street level interaction, and serving the public in a downtown urban environment. You are skilled in preventing and defusing potentially volatile situations and make sound use of force decisions. You can engage safely and effectively with persons participating in criminal behavior. You can conduct yourself as a goodwill ambassador representing the City of Portland, the SmartPark Garage system, Portland Downtown Heliport, and Streetcar Facilities, providing information and assistance to downtown visitors. You are skilled at writing incident reports suitable for police reports and court proceedings, with experience in providing testimony in criminal court and other legal proceedings. You can work safely and competently alongside law enforcement during routine patrols, investigations, and emergencies. Qualifications For Security Response Officer - Patrol
Be authorized to work in the U.S. Be able to provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED Be able to pass an extensive screening process Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations Responsive and strong problem solving skills Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience preferred Must have a valid driver\'s license Must have a clean driving record Must be 21 years of age In the United States, GardaWorld Security remains the only guarding security company to be certified by Great Place to Work.
