Position: CHEERLEADING COACH at HARDING HIGH SCHOOL

The Cheerleading Coach is responsible for coaching student athletes in competitive cheerleading techniques to prepare them for events and/or competitions. The position involves motivating students, setting practice schedules, supervising at games and camps, and fostering team spirit. The coach must also ensure safety, maintain proper records, and promote positive conduct.

Responsibilities include:

Organizing practices and games

Attending tryouts, competitions, and camps

Assessing skills and assigning positions

Creating and teaching routines

Instructing cheerleaders on rules and techniques

Monitoring and improving team performance

Maintaining discipline and safety standards

Conferencing with Athletic Director and parents as needed

Following regulations and promoting sportsmanship

Encouraging participation in campus activities

Performing additional duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills required:

Experience working with high school students

Knowledge of cheerleading and coaching techniques

Effective communication and organizational skills

Basic computer skills

Reading and math comprehension

Qualifications:

High School Diploma minimum

CT coaching certification or teaching certificate

First Aid and CPR certifications

Concussion Management Training

High school or college coaching experience preferred

Bilingual in Spanish preferred

This position adheres to the collective bargaining agreement and salary schedule for 2025-2026.
