A well-established and growing general practice law firm in Northwest Arkansas is seeking an Immigration Attorney to join the team full-time. The successful candidate will have experience in immigration law and a commitment to providing exceptional legal services to clients of diverse backgrounds. The Immigration Attorney will assist immigrants with a wide range of laws and procedures, including asylum representations, responding to potential ICE raids and arrests, assisting clients in transitioning from TPS (Temporary Protected Status), Humanitarian Parole, submitting Withdrawal of Removal and CAT (Convention Against Torture) applications, submitting DACA renewals, and handling removal proceedings. Responsibilities
Represent clients in immigration court and before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and in deportation proceedings Prepare and file legal documents, such as applications, petitions, appeals, and waivers Draft correspondence and memos Conduct legal research and prepare complex legal briefs Provide legal advice and counsel on all aspects of immigration law Communicate regularly with clients, and update clients on case status Monitor changes in immigration law, regulations and trends, and advise clients accordingly Supervise and collaborate with staff DOJ Accredited Representative to develop legal strategies and approaches for complex cases Review and sign documents prepared by DOJ Partially Accredited Representatives for defensive asylum cases Maintain detailed case files and documentation to ensure compliance with legal requirements and deadlines Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills Excellent written and oral communication Ability to manage multiple matters and tasks simultaneously Capacity to complete tasks in an efficient and effective manner Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to handle high caseload Strong organizational and matter management Ability to work professionally with clients, peers, and co-workers Willingness to work as part of a team, as well as independently Desire and skills to maintain and develop long-term client relationships Willingness to participate in firm, community, and charitable events Willingness and desire to grow individual and firm clientele and business Proficiency in court and legal research tools and software Proficiency with Google and Microsoft software Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Active attorney license and in good standing in the state of Arkansas Minimum of 2 (two) years practicing immigration law at a private law firm Direct experience representing clients in immigration court Bi-lingual language skills with fluency in English and Spanish Position Details
The position of Immigration Attorney is a full-time salaried position. Compensation is dependent upon experience. The position is annual bonus eligible. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM with flexibility and “work from home” eligibility.
