Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Cheer Coach to join our dynamic cheerleading program. The Assistant Cheer Coach will support the Head Coach in all aspects of team training, preparation, and performance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cheerleading, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to developing athletes both athletically and personally. Reports to: Principal and Athletic Director. Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of cheerleading practices, routines, and events. Work closely with the Head Coach to develop and implement practice schedules and conditioning programs. Teach cheerleading skills, stunts, jumps, tumbling, and choreography. Provide individualized instruction and feedback to athletes to help improve their technique and performance. Assist with the organization and participation in competitions, pep rallies, and other school/community events. Promote a positive and supportive team culture by fostering teamwork, discipline, and respect among athletes. Ensure that athletes adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during practices and performances. Support the recruitment of new athletes and help foster relationships with students interested in joining the cheerleading program. Assist with the management of team equipment, uniforms, and other resources. Attend and assist with game-day cheerleading activities, including home and away events. Maintain effective communication with the Head Coach, athletes, and parents/guardians. Collaborate with the athletic department and other coaches to ensure the cheerleading program aligns with the school’s overall mission and values. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; college-level cheerleading experience preferred. Previous cheerleading coaching experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunting, and tumbling. Ability to demonstrate leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with athletes of various skill levels. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and travel for competitions/events as required. Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their highest potential. Physical Requirements
