Lead Cloud Oracle Database Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Oracle Database Administrator with deep expertise in Exadata, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and SQL Server administration. This role leads the implementation, management, performance tuning, security, and availability of Oracle databases on Exadata and OCI platforms, while driving automation, production support, and database design collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c) on Exadata and OCI environments.
Administer and support Oracle Exadata Database Machine, including cell nodes, storage, compute nodes, and InfiniBand network.
Manage Oracle databases in OCI, including Bare Metal, VM DB Systems, and Autonomous DB.
Provide technical system solutions, design direction, and hardware recommendations for complex technical issues.
Drive innovation by reviewing public cloud platform database service releases.
Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery.
Automate and optimize database management tasks using scripts (Shell, Python, PL/SQL).
Monitor performance, address bottlenecks, and proactively resolve issues.
Implement security protocols, data masking, encryption, auditing, and user privilege management.
Assist support staff to troubleshoot Oracle, SQL, and database errors.
Document all configurations, processes, and policies.
Participate in DR/COB plans and on‑call rotations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
8–10 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in large‑scale production environments.
4+ years of SQL Server administration experience.
Hands‑on experience with Oracle Exadata Database Machine installation, configuration, patching, and support.
Proficiency managing Oracle databases in OCI, including deployment, migration, and maintenance.
Deep knowledge of Oracle database architecture, ASM, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM.
Experience with backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and Data Guard management.
Strong skills in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
Expertise in Unix/Linux (Oracle Linux preferable), shell scripting, and automation.
Familiarity with cloud automation (Terraform, Ansible) and OCI CLI / REST APIs.
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) preferred.
Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage Oracle and SQL databases in AWS and Azure cloud environments.
