OUC - The Reliable One is seeking an Instrumentation & Control Technician II to join the Electric & Water Production division.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems in a power plant and will focus on honing and developing mastery of I&C work functions, with familiarity across areas over time. Experience with systems such as Ovation, Foxboro, Eclipse, and Enterprise is highly desired.
Summary of the role: responsible for troubleshooting and maintenance of I&C systems throughout the power plant, and for programming control logic and graphics. The technician will offer alternative solutions when identifying problems and making recommendations for corrective action.

Salary: Starting at $37.78 per hour (Estimated $78,582.40 annually) with a structured step progression system and performance-based pay increases every 6 months up to $43.66 per hour (Estimated $90,812.80 annually).
Job Purpose: Responsible for the troubleshooting and maintenance of instrumentation and control (I&C) systems throughout the power plant as well as programming control logic and graphics. The Tech II classification is expected to hone and develop the mastery of I&C work functions, focusing on a specific area of the Power Plant while becoming more familiar over time with other areas. I&C Technicians are focused primarily on the technology and equipment allowing for the measurement of various elements (heat, pressure, voltage, water level, etc.), controls for various systems, calibration, and feedback displays providing information to the correct places and people (i.e. control rooms/operators).
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot power plant I&C systems, including problem identification, evaluation of alternative solutions, and implementation of corrective action Perform maintenance on equipment and technology supporting control, measurements (heat, pressure, vibration, etc.), calibration, and feedback displays for power plant equipment and systems (e.g., steam turbines, valves, bearings, turbines, pumps, conveyors, crushers); advanced tasks may be performed under supervision until proficiency is demonstrated Assist with programming the control logic and design graphical displays for feedback systems using Emerson Ovation DCIS to ensure accurate readings and information delivery to control rooms/power plant operators Plan and perform installation of new control systems and upgrades on existing systems Utilize P&IDs and related documentation to perform I&C work Mentor and guide lower-classification technicians within the I&C duties Demonstrate proficiency of Electric Technician skills at the Tech III level Performs other duties as assigned Technical Requirements
Working knowledge of OSHA safety practices, LOTO, PPE, vehicle safety, fire safety procedures, fall-arrest and confined spaces protocols Installing, upgrading, and maintaining I&C systems for heavy equipment (power plant, industrial, etc.) Power plant systems, their redundancies, and outage schedules (preferred) Interpretation and editing of documents outlining layout, configuration, and specifications of equipment (blueprints, P&IDs, etc.) Use of tools including hand tools, measurement tools (e.g., volt meter), and related equipment Basics of electrical theory Familiarity
Software and technologies: Distributed Control Systems (Ovation, Foxboro), Eclipse (for LOTO procedures), JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1) for TRs/PM work orders, databases, PLCs (Modicon, Allen-Bradley) Power plant operations (preferred) Regulatory guidelines, best practices, and procedures Strong problem solving, time management, and communication skills Ability to

High School Diploma or GED Minimum of four (4) years of power plant I&C maintenance experience, OR seven (7) years of industrial I&C maintenance experience Certifications and specialized trainings to be required upon hire and to be maintained thereafter Completion of required General Physics (GPI) learnings and JPMs through I&C Technician III progression level (or equivalent skills training if external candidate) Florida Driver’s License Working Conditions
This job requires willingness to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Work may occur in areas with elevations, confined spaces, excessive noise, chemicals, noxious fumes, vibration, extreme heat, insects, and occasional extreme weather conditions. Risk of electrical shock. Physical Requirements
Constant or frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, typing, and reading/editing. Frequent lifting up to 40 lbs and occasional lifting 50+ lbs.
