We are seeking an experienced Domestic Law Attorney focusing on issues that impact families such as divorce proceedings, adoptions, protective orders, and child custody. Attorneys in this area of practice help clients navigate difficult periods with legal expertise and empathy. Practicing law is about people, values, and caring, with a focus on career development and promotion.

Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, custody, adoption, mediation, and related proceedings.

Practice in family court, civil court, or other related negotiations as needed.

Provide effective legal advice, organize and record official documents, and update clients regularly about their cases.

Oversee and manage legal issues arising within families; liaison with professionals such as psychologists, doctors, social workers, and police officers.

Supervise and direct mediation sessions and participate in trials and court appearances as required.

Draft custody agreements, wills, divorces, annulments, prenuptial agreements, child custody, support, and visitation rights documents.

Ensure compliance with courtroom procedures, etiquette, presence, and persuasive writing skills.

Apply knowledge of ancillary relief, property, financial settlements, adoption, childcare/protection, domestic violence, paternity/surrogacy matters.

Qualifications

Must be licensed to practice law in Maryland (Preferred D.C./P.A./V.A.).

Strong domestic and civil litigation skills with excellent interpersonal abilities.

Efficient time management, critical thinking, and sound research skills.

Ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.

In-office moot courtroom experience is a plus.

Knowledge of courtroom procedures, negotiation, debate, and persuasion techniques.

Excellent legal and persuasive writing skills.
