Overview

Chenega Professional & Technical Services, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a Research Associate III. The Research Associate III shall provide laboratory support with laboratory experiments in BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories and must hold and maintain BPRP status. The contractor shall aid in the execution of scientific studies and plaque assays, PCR and other assays, animal procedures, data collection/analysis, and maintenance of laboratory space and equipment. Supervisory Technical Support Contractor shall provide technical oversight and actively lead the successful execution of MIC studies. Perform BSL-3 laboratory operations and training in animal manipulations Provide scientific support for mouse studies, including preparation of antibiotics, administration of drugs, collection of animal body fluids, and removal of tissues Perform animal health exams in support of mouse studies Participate in BSL-2 Pharmacokinetics mouse studies and support the in vivo pharmacology research program Assist with animal challenges and bacterial challenge preparations Perform in vitro Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) testing of potential therapeutic compounds against Tier 1 bacteria Perform bioanalytical data acquisition, data analysis, and reporting of results Perform or assist with BSAT inventory management weekly Conduct or assist with Equipment Inventory Management Perform or assist with monthly Laboratory Management to include safety functions and chemical inventory Maintain laboratories in BSL-2 and BSL-3 Participate in weekly lab meetings Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Biology, or a related field Background in Pharmacology preferred 2+ years lab experience Experience handling both bacterial pathogens for in vitro and in vivo studies with preferred experience in BSL-2 and BSL-3 biocontainment labs Experience handling small animals for the following: Administration of drugs and vaccines via multiple routes; Blood and tissue collection; Animal observations; Animal necropsies Experience with the following techniques: Bacterial burdens in organ tissue; ELISA; Minimum Inhibition Concentration (MIC) testing; Performing live/dead assays under BSL-3 conditions; Mass spectrometry; Chromatography; HPLC MS/MS (Sciex platforms coupled with Shimadzu HPLCs) Experience with software: Applied Biosystems Analyst, Excel, and Mass Spec Quantitation Software MultiQuant Preparation of media/reagents required Knowledge of GFEBS ordering system is preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Multitask in a high paced environment Works well with others Prior experience in BSL-2 and BSL-3 biocontainment labs preferred Ability to obtain and maintain BPRP status Compensation

Estimated Salary/Wage: USD $60,000.00/Yr. Up to USD $70,000.00/Yr.
