Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital, an ACS verified Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Neurosurgery team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be an integral part of a busy neurosurgery service. Responsibilities
Collaborate with the on-call surgeon to evaluate and disposition all neurosurgical consults from the Emergency Department and inpatient units. Round on all neurosurgical service patients, providing comprehensive assessments and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care. Conduct outpatient follow-up appointments in our clinic, ensuring continuity of care for neurosurgical patients. Assist with neurosurgical operations as needed, including pre-operative assessments and post-operative care. Provide patient education and support regarding their neurosurgical condition, treatment options, and recovery process. Schedule
APP shifts are 8 hours in duration, Monday through Friday. Typical hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. No after-hours call responsibilities. Requirements
Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies. Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Texas. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the respective specialty area (Neurosurgery). Prior experience in neurosurgery or acute care setting preferred. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Predictable schedule with no additional call responsibilities. No billing or coding – you take care of patients, our operations team takes care of the paperwork. Malpractice and tail coverage provided, and no non-compete clause.
