The
Senior Accountant
will support the financial reporting process for a high-impact, mission-driven organization headquartered in Central Florida. This role plays a vital part in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and internal reporting for a dynamic organization with 150+ locations nationwide.
The Value You Will Bring To The Team
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Perform monthly journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
Conduct prospect research and drafts grant proposals in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external consultants to support funding efforts across the organization.
Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and grant-specific regulations.
Ensure financial transactions align with grant agreements and meet required deliverables and deadlines.
Review and validate financial data, assumptions, and methodologies using a strong understanding of accounting principles, healthcare finance, and internal systems.
Support the preparation and audit of the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA).
Assist with external audits, site visits, and compliance reviews.
Review grant budgets and reimbursement requests for accuracy and eligibility.
Manage subrecipient and contractor agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and proper documentation.
Design and deliver training on grants fiscal management and regulatory requirements.
Perform internal compliance reviews of grant-funded programs.
Provide additional support as needed to ensure efficient grant operations.
The Expertise And Experiences You’ll Need To Succeed
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required)
2+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
Experience with large, multi-entity organizations is a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
