JCW is currently recruiting on behalf of a leading investment firm looking for an Assistant Controller to join their growing team. This is a high-visibility role overseeing fund accounting and financial reporting operations across multiple PE vehicles. The Assistant Controller will oversee quarterly fund reporting, review management fee and waterfall calculations, support audits and investor reporting, and contribute to performance analyses and regulatory filings. This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days in the firm’s Manhattan office.
Base pay range $115,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Oversee accounting and financial reporting across multiple private equity funds
Manage relationships with fund administrators, auditors, and tax professionals
Review quarterly financial statements, capital calls, and distribution notices
Validate fund performance metrics, including IRRs and waterfall calculations
Support audit and tax reporting processes and ensure timely deliverables
Prepare cash flow projections and liquidity analyses for fund operations
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
4–7 years of relevant experience in fund accounting, private equity, or alternatives finance
Strong understanding of accounting principles and fund reporting
CPA designation or progress toward CPA preferred
Highly organized with strong analytical and review skills
