Job Summary The Office of Undergraduate Student Services at the Leeds School of Business encourages applications for a Professional Academic Advisor! The Advisor joins a team committed to supporting the education of the whole student and integrating student life with learning. This position involves generating and sharing academic information and personalized requirements through policies, practices, and programs for students, families, faculty, and staff campus-wide. The role focuses on educating the whole student via a developmental, student-centered approach, including individual, group, and electronic interactions to enhance academic success, personal and professional development, and community fostering.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Advising:

Advises first-year Leeds students, evaluates credits, creates degree plans, provides interventions, conducts outreach, and delivers workshops via in-person, phone, Zoom, or email, emphasizing a student-focused, developmental approach.

Student Records & Outreach:

Monitors academic progress using Salesforce and data dashboards; conducts outreach to at-risk students and special populations, using data for interventions.

Teaching BADM 1250:

Participates in instructor training, supports advising modules, collaborates on teaching processes, and teaches at least two sections, with knowledge of Design Thinking and Life Design concepts.

New Student Onboarding:

Manages summer advising, develops communication and content for orientation, and supports onboarding and enrollment programming.

Program Administration:

Supports First Year Experience initiatives, plans and executes events, collaborates with faculty, and participates in team meetings.

Other Duties:

Assists with orientation, graduation, commencement, advising, training, and may serve on committees.

Additional Information

Schedule: Typically Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional evenings/weekends.

Salary: $54,060 - $55,000; relocation within guidelines available.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree and one year of advising or related experience; effective communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams; interpersonal skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office; commitment to inclusion; public speaking skills; flexibility for evening work.

Preferred: Master's degree, experience in career counseling, advising technology, teaching first-year seminars.
