The Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional with all golf shop activities and outside services operations and for ensuring guests receive outstanding customer service that meets or exceeds their expectations. The role supports golf events, tournaments, outings, leagues, teaching clinics, and other golf programs designed to improve the Club’s products and services as well as its competitive position in the marketplace. All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices and procedures. Job Duties
Responsible for daily set-up and continued care for welcome areas, parking lot, practice facilities, clubhouse, club and cart storage, and departures. Participates in Tournament Operations, Retail assignments, and Instruction with the Golf Academy, as permitted by the PGA Program. Coordinates member and guest special orders, tee times, access to partner golf courses, and assists club groups with tournament access. Update professional staff and golf services team on additions made throughout the day. Oversees rental set inventory and ensures equipment is maintained, updated, and functional. Coordinate with transportation for delivery of guests and golf bags. Daily review of golf club shipments via Ship Sticks or other carriers. Ensure Guest Services team has materials needed to preset next day setup. Work with restaurant team to coordinate pre-booked beverage packages to be set in golf carts. Assist with assigned tournament details and Group Golf functions. Maintain shop displays and inventory levels on the floor. Rotate to serve as valet attendant, pro shop attendant, starter, ranger, if necessary, and as an instructor at the academy. Assist with daily staff schedules to ensure proper coverage based on play demands. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: BA / BS degree in Hospitality, Business, Golf Management, or related field. PGA Class “A” Member in good standing. May consider strong Level II or III Associate with a clear path to soon acquire PGA membership. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience of private or resort club, preferably as an Assistant Golf Professional. Golf Academy experience a plus and/or Teaching certifications from accredited programs. Bilingual is a plus. Other Minimum Requirements: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
