Position: Banquet Captain at 21c Museum Hotels
Job Description Join our team as a Banquet Captain and become one of the authors of our story. As part of the Auberge family, you will work closely with the Director of Event Services and Conference and Event Services Managers. Additionally you will assist Banquet Operations in planning, organizing, and directing the work of Banquet team members while ensuring guest satisfaction and working closely with the culinary and stewarding teams.
Core Responsibilities
Managing the banquet server team to ensure the complete setup and breakdown of the banquet area
Demonstrating a passion for flawless service and the highest level of integrity and work ethic
Multi-tasking and observing the entire dining room/venue to ensure a seamless guest experience and team member communication, as well as maintaining a high level of cleanliness and awareness of sanitary practices
Anticipating guests’ needs and exceeding guest service expectations
Maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment and relaying important information about orders, allergies and special requests to the appropriate person
Responding urgently and appropriately to any concerns and presenting with a professional appearance and demeanor
Relating with guests about needs, satisfaction with the food & beverage, ensuring a consistently caring and high-quality service
Understanding event and venue layout, table/seat/station numbers and proper table set-ups
Accurately and quickly take and place food & beverage orders and input them into the Micros system
Using safe food handling procedures and maintaining a safe-working environment by using proper food handling skills and food safety guidelines
Performing any other job-related duties as assigned
Rate: $15.50/hr + Gratuity
Qualifications
Previous food and beverage server experience
Experience in a fine dining restaurant
Strong knowledge of food & beverage
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong interpersonal and team player skills
