Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate/Senior Research Associate in Analytical Chemistry to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of analytical methods to support protein characterization and quantification. This role is central to ensuring product quality and advancing our precision fermentation pipeline.
Responsibilities
Develop, optimize, and execute analytical methods for protein characterization, including HPLC/UPLC (SEC, RP, HIC, HILIC) and LC-MS
Support quantification of proteins and metabolites from fermentation samples.
Perform protein characterization by LC–MS, including intact mass analysis and peptide mapping, to confirm sequence and integrity of expressed proteins.
Analyze and quantify post‑translational modifications (e.g., glycosylation, oxidation, phosphorylation, deamidation) and support disulfide bond studies.
Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot LC–MS methods for protein and peptide analysis, ensuring robustness and reproducibility.
Process and interpret both HPLC and LC–MS data, generate clear reports, and present findings to cross‑functional teams.
Partner with fermentation and downstream processing teams to provide analytical insights that guide protein production strategies.
Maintain accurate laboratory records, analyze data, and prepare technical reports.
Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining analytical instrumentation.
Communicate results and findings to scientists within the project group.
Ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
Qualifications
B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field.
At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Hands‑on experience with protein analysis using techniques such as HPLC/UPLC and LC‑QTOFMS.
Proficiency in data analysis software for chromatography and mass spectrometry.
Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced biotech environment.
Positive can‑do attitude and self‑motivation.
Experience with Agilent MassHunter and Chemstation is a plus but is not required.
