Responsibilities

Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. The role develops and promotes a sales culture by creating individualized and complete solutions for every guest and providing outstanding guest service experiences through professional conduct and shared passion for gaming. Ensure products are easy to see and buy, build sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests, maintain a clean, organized store environment, and grow guest loyalty and repeat business. Supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including making changes, issuing receipts, and ensuring top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop benefits such as new title reservations, trade-in programs, and Pro Rewards loyalty. Assist with setting guest service expectations and training for store associates, including company policies and procedures. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates following guidelines, manage breaks and meals, and supervise staffing to maintain high guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support meeting/exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Execute stock counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals; complete closeout paperwork and deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report discrepancies to management. Handle defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure policies are up to date. Adhere to all opening and closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor\'s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred; at least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Clear verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and both independently and in a team. Strong reliability, judgment, and problem-solving abilities under pressure. Ability to operate the POS system and basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills. Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs; physical capabilities as required. Benefits: Full-time store positions are eligible to participate in incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Bonus or other incentives may be available. Compensation: $10.75 - $14.75
