Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 2427) – GameStop Join to apply for the Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 2427) role at GameStop. Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, and encourage repeat visits by circulating the store. Support the shopping environment, including visual/operational elements and current sales initiatives; nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns using the POS system accurately; handle transactions with correct changes, receipts, and top-tier service. Respond to guest inquiries in person or via phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on company policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance data in Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding/training is completed prior to opening/closing shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule store associates, manage breaks/meals, and maintain staffing levels for optimal guest service. Approve payroll and manage time-off requests; verify pay accuracy. Maintain clean, organized store and ensure fixtures/equipment are in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as needed and report concerns to the Store Manager. Support meeting/exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals; perform required administrative duties. Execute stock counts, restock merchandise, and organize the sales floor. Balance daily transactions in POS; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits according to guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report discrepancies to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in absence of Store Manager; adhere to policies and procedures. Adhere to all opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized guest assistance during every visit. Clear verbal/written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team. Hit performance expectations regarding attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork and follow written or diagrammatic instructions. Handle financial tasks per company policy; flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Remain reliable and trustworthy; able to work alone or in a team; stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs from ground to 4 feet high.
