Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 4613) at GameStop. Join to apply for the Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 4613) role at GameStop. Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. Using elements of GameStop's buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model, the Assistant Store Manager develops and promotes a sales culture by creating individualized and complete solutions for every guest and providing outstanding guest service experiences through professional conduct and shared passion for gaming. You will be responsible for ensuring that products are easy to see and buy, building sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests, providing a clean, organized environment in which to shop, and growing guest loyalty and repeat business. This position supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly; respond to questions/concerns quickly and politely; assist guests with gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction; circulate around the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns using the POS system accurately, including making correct changes, providing receipts, and ensuring high-quality guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance in alignment with company expectations. Provide timely recognition and feedback to store associates; maintain written feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training are completed prior to shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocols, and ethics. Schedule store associates to follow guidelines, manage breaks and meals, and maintain optimum guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time entries. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, merchandising, and working equipment; ensure omni-channel orders are fulfilled daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages when closing; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties. Conduct stock/restock activities, move products to the sales floor, and ensure products are represented and alphabetized. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; manage cash and deposits according to policy. Verify shipments and record discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate discrepancies to leadership. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly with proper labeling and packing. Maintain safety awareness and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain organized store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Job Skills And Abilities
Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Genuine and individualized guest assistance during every visit. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; English (bilingual English/Spanish preferred). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet objectives. Ability to work independently and in a team; timely task completion. Meet performance expectations (attendance, appearance, safety, respectful workplace). Operate the POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork; follow instructions; execute financial tasks per policy. Flexible schedule including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Resilience under pressure; problem solving and adaptability. Reliability, trustworthiness, and good judgment. Able to work alone; stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs and reach overhead as needed. Onboarding may require knowledge of military ranks/insignia for stores on military bases (where applicable). Benefits and Compensation
