A Research Associate II position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Melanie Shapiro, PhD, in the AR-DMRI Department of Diabetes Immunology. You will perform a variety of experiments related to the genetics and immunology of type 1 diabetes. The Shapiro laboratory currently studies germline genetic variants predicting response to immunotherapies for type 1 diabetes as well as somatic variants in the pancreas and immune cells of organ donors with type 1 diabetes. Isolate and culture immune cells

In vitro *

Perform CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing *

Run multicolor flow cytometry and analysis *

Execute ELISA and/or multiplex cytokine quantification assays *

Analyze single nucleotide polymorphism genotyping data *

Perform murine injections, dissection, and processing of pancreas and immune organs for

in vivo

experiments *

Process and analyze single cell RNA sequencing data

Qualifications Your qualifications should include: *

Bachelor's degree. Masters degree preferred *

2+ years of related research/laboratory experience with a Bachelor's degree or 1+ year related research/laboratory experience with a Master's degree. *
