As a
Security Guard - Unarmed Government Site
in
Santa Barbara, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will monitor and patrol designated areas to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will conduct routine patrols, interact with individuals on-site, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This is a Part-Time position offering flexibility to view and pick up open shifts via our exclusive Claim a Shift platform, helping you build a schedule that fits your availability while gaining site experience across industries. Day shifts (Thu 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM, Fri 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM) What You’ll Do
Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites Support operations across environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise Responsibilities
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner Conduct regular and random patrols around the government site and its perimeter to deter unwanted activity Document and report security-related incidents, observations, or hazards Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and site personnel Adapt to varying working environments and conditions as required by the government location What We’re Looking For
Availability across various days and shifts Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available Minimum Requirements
Access control and badge experience is preferred Experience with alarm panels is preferred A valid guard card or security-related license is preferred CPR and first aid certification is preferred Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles High school diploma or equivalent Background investigation as required by law; Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories Drug screen as permitted by law Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws; may be required prior to employment Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only Why Join Us
