The postdoctoral fellow will conduct independent research on retrotransposon biology. This position involves participation in research projects focused on the genomic content, expression, mobilization mechanisms, and disease contributions of retrotransposons. Studies will use genetically modified animal models as well as in vitro and ex vivo systems, including cell lines and tissues from humans and animals. The Postdoc will plan and perform experiments, analyze data, contribute to manuscript and grant proposal writing, in collaboration with the Principal Investigator. Research results will be submitted for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Qualifications
Ph.D. in biological sciences, M.D., or equivalent Knowledge of genetics and molecular biology Hands-on experience with CRISPR systems Experience with NGS data processing, downstream DGE, pathway, and ontology analyses using R packages Basic coding skills in Python or other languages Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, analytical skills, with the ability for independent thinking and attention to detail Application Instructions
