Bachelor's degree and meets certification requirements as established by the Georgia Department of Education. Certified in field and meets all requirements to be "Highly Qualified" as defined by the No Child Left Behind Act. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS:

Valid teacher certification in the assigned teaching field. QUALIFICATIONS:

Incumbent must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function of the position. Demonstrates the ability to: Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students, collaborating with colleagues as appropriate. Create and maintain a safe classroom environment conducive to learning. Create a standards-based classroom by employing instructional methods of the Georgia Performance Standards. Employ differentiation strategies to assist/challenge all students and the Pyramid of Intervention (POI). Monitor and evaluate student outcomes, communicating appropriately with staff, students, and parents. Maintain confidentiality of students and their records. Engage in continuous professional development and renew certification in a timely manner. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides instruction based on state and county expectations, assessing student accomplishments regularly and providing progress reports as specified by administration. Assists in implementing policies governing student conduct; develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintains order in a fair manner. Plans and supervises meaningful assignments for paraprofessionals if applicable. Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required. Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. Maintains accurate, complete records as required by law and policy. Assumes responsibility for the safety of students. Maintains regular, punctual attendance. Provides adequate information and materials for substitute teachers. Carries out other duties assigned by the principal. PERFORMANCE FACTORS:
