Division Overview The Division of Gaming ensures that limited gaming is conducted honestly, fairly and competitively, and is free from criminal and corrupt elements.

Responsibilities

Actively patrol Colorado casinos.

Conduct regulatory investigations regarding statutes, rules and internal controls.

Conduct criminal investigations and compliance inspections.

Provide educational services to licensees and the public.

Plan and conduct complex investigations of criminal activity pertaining to the industry.

Initiate appropriate action based on criminal investigations.

Conduct interrogations in response to active criminal investigations.

Utilize a variety of databases to support criminal investigations.

Interview witnesses, suspects, complainants and the general public to detect, discover and obtain additional information or evidence related to the investigation.

Make physical arrests and assist local police agencies when requested.

Conduct covert operations and/or surveillance to produce evidence for prosecution.

Collaborate with other investigators and law enforcement officers for high-risk situations.

Conduct comprehensive compliance inspections.

Determine compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Prepare arrest warrants and detailed investigative reports for court use or testimony.

Qualifications

Six (6) years of relevant experience in investigative experience conducting both criminal and regulatory investigations.

Required valid/active Colorado P.O.S.T. Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Colorado rules and regulations related to Division of Gaming.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Ability to work independently and accept supervision.

Special Qualifications

Applicants must successfully pass a background investigation and a tax check prior to appointment to positions in the Gaming Division.

Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License.

Applicants must be willing to work nights, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and maintain on-call status.

Must be able to qualify and maintain qualification with a firearm and arrest control techniques.

Maintain a current/valid Colorado POST certification at the time of application.
