Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC) is a 900‑bed male correctional facility located in Clallam Bay, Washington. This role supports the Recreation & Athletic program for medium and close custody inmates.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and direct the institution’s recreation program, including intramural sports leagues, weightlifting program, fitness activities, hobby, music, photo, club activities, arts and crafts, social activities, and supervision of incarcerated work crews. Coordinate program availability in gymnasium, outside yards, visiting rooms, and living units; solicit feedback from staff and inmates. Review and provide input on program ideas; develop a budget for equipment, supplies, and facilities. Provide a weekly recreation schedule for all units. Establish and prioritize performance expectations for staff; conduct performance evaluations; address performance and misconduct issues; provide coaching and mentoring. Assess staff individually for career development and provide training experiences. Provide guidance and counseling to inmates regarding recreation programs, policies, and procedures. Maintain liaisons with community representatives and organizations that may benefit the recreation program. Qualifications
Required
– High School Diploma or G.E.D.; 2 years’ experience in program management in recreational or intramural sports programs. Desired
– A bachelor’s degree in recreation, therapeutic recreation, music, drama, physical education, or psychology, sociology, or education with a minor in recreation, physical education, music, or drama; three years of professional experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity.
