Job Summary/Basic Function The Department of Economics and Finance at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#113170) in Economics at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
Conduct research in the following areas of economics:
applied microeconomics
macroeconomics
econometrics
labor economics
industrial organization
international economics
related fields
Engage in service to the department, college, and university.
Maintain an active research agenda leading to peer-reviewed publications.
Required Education A terminal degree in economics is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables Applicants with the following will receive special consideration:
Ability to teach in multiple areas of economics.
Experience with data analysis software (e.g., Stata, R, Python).
Demonstrated commitment to student engagement.
Holding or pursuing professional certifications such as the NABE Certified Business Economist (CBE) credential.
Relevant applied or policy experience.
