Responsibilities
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures following departmental SOPs. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed. Assist with specimen processing when required. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Requirement/Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements (CLIA & State). 8-10 years of clinical laboratory testing experience. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus. High attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills. Must pass a standardized color vision screen. Flexibility to work overtime or varying shifts as needed. Preferred/Required Certifications
ASCP or AMT certification (as specified by requirement). State Medical Technologist license (if required by local regulations). Skills
Laboratory instrumentation operation and troubleshooting. Specimen evaluation and processing. Quality control and preventive maintenance. Data documentation and reporting. Team collaboration and independent work. Experience
Minimum 8-10 years of relevant clinical laboratory testing experience.
