Our staffing agency represents a privately-held AI-powered support engineering firm that helps its customers provide high-precision technical support to its end users. It has earned raves from innovative global firms like Databricks, Corelight, StreamNative, RisingWave, Skypilot, Quix, and more. This 15-employee, Seed-funded firm ($11.5 million), whose senior leaders bring experience from UC Berkeley, Turi, HPE, and Alteryx, is seeking a Founding SDR to generate net-new opportunities with companies that provide technical support to their customers, such as dev tools, infrastructure, IT, analytics platforms, and database software. This hybrid role reports to the CEO. Solution Our client has built the gold standard AI-powered technical support engineer, designed to save time and accelerate customer adoption. By learning from your documentation, guides, and APIs, this solution: Provides instant, expert answers to customer queries Assists with debugging and code writing Unblocks customers and reduces support ticket volume Delivers insights to improve product documentation Empowers your team, enhances customer experience, and drives product adoption with its intelligent, scalable support solution. Role * Individual contributor role, working mostly from their San Mateo office (hybrid). * $65k to $75k+ base, $85k to $100k+ OTE, commensurate with previous achievement and experience. * We’re seeking a top-performing SaaS SDR who is looking for that steppingstone into an AE role. 6 months to 2 years of telephone sales experience required. * When we get prospects to the demo stage, they are leaning forward. This is an evangelical sale with clear differentiators. * Fun sales motion: clients sign up for a two-week POC, and 80% of those POC have converted into signed agreements. * You’re a builder. You get excited about the idea of starting from the ground-up and building a strong foundation for years to come. * You will also create and own the SDR playbook – this document will be huge for your career portfolio! Official Job Description About the Role We’re growing fast — and are looking for a creative and driven founding SDR to join our sales team to accelerate our outreach efforts. As the founding member of the SDR team, you’ll largely write the playbook for future generations of SDRs and will flex your creative muscles to think about how to open doors for our sales team to have strong conversations with potential clients. In this role: You’ll learn to quickly capture attention on the fly, both by mastering cold calling or through hyper-personalized email and LinkedIn messages. You’ll manage creative campaigns for accounts that could be a good fit for us — thinking about the right message to send, how to reach out, and how to experiment to get better over time. You’ll field customer conversations for anyone interested in our free product and a sub-set of demos, honing your ability to communicate about our product and navigate sales conversations. You’ll keep potential clients interested in the solution when the timing isn’t yet right, nurturing and building relationships with them with invites to events and sending along updates. You’ll work closely with the go-to-market team, getting first-hand insight into the marketing, growth, sales, and partnerships teams. If successful, you’ll have substantially contributed to our growth and have laid the groundwork for others to join the SDR team. Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to grow into a full-cycle sales role, propel marketing efforts, or chart your own career path here.
