Airgas is hiring for an Outside Sales Account Manager in Harrisonburg, VA. This role is focused on managing the sales process and driving profitable sales growth within an assigned territory, serving both existing and new Airgas customers. Develops and executes sales plans to service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts. Qualifies and pursues sales leads. Cultivates customer relationships by gaining a deep understanding of the customer’s business and establishing a consultative relationship. Engages customers by linking their business priorities to the Airgas value proposition. Prepares sales proposals by quoting pricing, establishing credit terms, and estimating delivery dates based on knowledge of Airgas production and logistics schedules. Remains current with industry insights, Airgas product mixes, and monitors the competition by gathering marketplace intelligence on pricing, products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques. Partners with internal resources to achieve growth objectives and maintains clear communication with internal departments regarding customer successes, opportunities, and developments. Maintains and submits sales reports (daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly/annual territory analyses) as required by the District Manager through SAP. Acts to review and manage existing customer accounts receivable balances to minimize Airgas working capital investment and financial risk. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Proven success using a consultative sales approach to provide multiple layers of value and deliver solutions. Proven ability to apply knowledge of the customer’s business, macro/microeconomic trends, industry trends, and new business opportunities. Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, and presentation skills using current technology. Self-starter with a sense of urgency; able to work independently. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and minimum required liability insurance. Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of outside B2B sales experience, including solution-selling concepts and managing customers in a defined territory. Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases; industrial gas/welding supply sales a plus. SAP experience is a plus. Benefits and Company Information
