Overview
Controller - Multifamily Real Estate + Property Accounting at a Orlando, FL-based real estate firm. The ideal candidate will have experience in multifamily real estate and property accounting, with proficiency in MRI, RealPage, or similar software. This is a full-time position with salary between $130,000 and $150,000 per year. Responsibilities
Oversee all financial and accounting operations, including designing an organizational structure to achieve department goals and objectives. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and variances. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit. Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants. Work closely with property management and operations teams to provide financial insights and recommendations. Use MRI and RealPage software for data management and analysis. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of accounting and finance experience, with a focus on real estate, particularly multifamily residential properties. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller. Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions. Excellent accounting software familiarity, especially MRI and RealPage. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables. Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to direct and supervise a team and communicate effectively. Benefits
