Payroll Tax Analyst role at Republic Services. The position focuses on ensuring the company’s compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, analyzing and resolving complex tax inquiries. Responsibilities

Perform weekly audits of employee transfers and new hires to review that employee taxes are set up properly and collaborate with relevant parties to resolve issues. Update State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rates in Workday and Smart Compliance for audit and compliance purposes. Review and update Federal Exempt Employees. Process IRS Lock-in Letters ensuring employee tax profiles comply with IRS directives. Generate weekly reports identifying employees with no SUI. Run weekly payroll audits to ensure accurate FICA tax withholding and update as needed. Prepare specialized reports for employees covered by railroad-specific federal regulations. Review and resolve level 1 payroll tax ServiceNow tickets. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications

Knowledge of payroll tax laws including registering and maintaining state payroll tax accounts. Solid understanding of the payroll lifecycle, amendments and taxable wages. Systems oriented with Microsoft Excel, experience with ADP Smart Compliance, and Workday knowledge. Strong organizational, communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail with the ability to analyze and problem solve in a team environment. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Experience with multi-state payroll taxes. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) - preferred. Minimum Requirements

2 - 4 years of experience handling multi-state payroll tax and W-2 filings. Rewarding Compensation And Benefits
