Business Application Analyst - Academic Technology
Job Summary Formulates/defines project and system scope and objectives through research and fact finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains applicable programs. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in business, payroll, human resources, academic, research, education, training, healthcare information technology, supply chain, grants management, ERP support, student financial software support, student information systems support, learning management application support, academic systems support, accounting, finance, enterprise software support, or Workday application support. Preferred Qualifications Workday Pro accreditation a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of information systems, analysis, and programming. Knowledge of system features and integration capabilities. Verbal and written communication skills. Analytical, programming, and troubleshooting skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to create, design, or enhance computer applications. Ability to program, test, debug, document, or install systems. Ability to prepare reports and maintain records and documentation. Responsibilities Researches, tests, debugs, documents, releases, installs, and supports any system supported by information systems. Provides leadership, guidance, and training to other staff. Displays creative thinking and resolves problems. Works with business systems staff, vendors, and users to find the best technological means to meet business needs. Keeps abreast of current and new technologies and serves as a resource to other technical staff. Develops specifications and conducts research with the assistance of business systems staff, vendors, and users to design, create, develop, or enhance computer applications. Prepares the required documents in accordance with information systems programming standards, policies, and procedures. Participates in project teams, special projects, and other tasks as assigned by director or designated team leader. Accomplishes goals and objectives within set deadlines. Provides positive customer relations across the range of Information Systems/ERP activities including support services, UMMC business units, and vendors. Promotes corporate integrity through compliance with the UMMC corporate compliance program.
