Position Summary The Personal Banker plays a vital role within the TRB Financial banking center, acting as a frontline ambassador in the community. The Personal Banker role provides both personal banking and community engagement duties, delivering high-quality customer service and a positive banking experience for all customers. This position helps individuals and families within the community access financial tools while building trust with local businesses, churches, schools, and non-profit organizations. The Personal Banker is responsible for opening and closing personal and commercial accounts, maintaining accounts, processing transactions (including cashing checks, receiving and processing deposits, withdrawals, transfers, balancing cash drawer, answering phones, safe deposit entry, answering customer questions, resolving related account problems, and providing other assistance as requested). Additionally, accurate and timely processing of transactions and requests in accordance with established teller policies and procedures is essential.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Greet and assist customers with everyday banking needs.

Be well versed in the Bank’s available products and services.

Open and close accounts in the Business Process Manger software. Account types may include personal and business checking, savings, IRAs, and Certificates of Deposit.

Discuss new account documentation with customers.

Order checks and debit cards.

Prepare documentation for new accounts under the Bank’s CIP/BSA policies.

Follow up on requests from clients and loan officers in a timely manner.

Deposit funds received from customers and obtain receipt for the customer.

Provide information to current and prospective customers regarding interest rates, account charges, and other pertinent account information.

Responsible for driving growth and expanding business opportunities through client acquisition and strategic partnerships.

Promote core banking products, including but not limited to checking, savings, and small dollar loans.

Maintain accurate records of client interactions, referrals, and outreach efforts.

Represent TRB Financial at local events, school functions, and neighborhood gatherings.

Build relationships within the community including nonprofits, churches, and small businesses.

Support pop-up banking events and financial education workshops in the community.

Serve as a trusted connector between TRB and the people we serve.

Other Responsibilities

Support and promote the Bank’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, organizational structure, policies, and procedures.

Exhibit excellent communication, analysis, observation, and decision-making skills.

Ability to work in high-pressure situations and a stressful atmosphere while remaining composed.

Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education And Experience Requirements

A self-starting individual who possesses a High School Diploma or GED.

At least 3 years of retail banking, customer service or community outreach experience.

Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills.

Ability to type, use a computer efficiently, and use a 10-key calculator.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to handle large quantities of currency while maintaining accuracy.

Good problem-solving skills, solid decision-making and effective communication.

Ability to prioritize and organize work activities.

Mental concentration for handling frequent interruptions and working in a fast-paced environment.

Position can be mentally and physically stressful; will require standing for most of the workday and may require lifting, carrying, or moving heavy boxes or bags of currency and coin, weighing up to 25 pounds.

Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Must be able to work flexible hours as scheduled, Monday through Saturday.

Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties.
