POSITION SUMMARY
The Grants Manager is a critical, high-impact role responsible for the full spectrum of institutional giving, including identification, cultivation, proposal writing, implementation, and compliance for all grants and committed gifts. This position is instrumental in securing financial resources from diverse sources, with a strong emphasis on Local, State, and Federal Government agencies, Private Foundations, and Corporate Partners. The Grants Manager will collaborate closely with the leadership team, including the Director of Development and Executive Director, to strategically align funding opportunities with the organization’s needs and program priorities. The role maintains a robust and diversified grant pipeline, stewards relationships with existing and prospective funders, ensures timely acquisition and fulfillment of grant commitments, and works with Finance to oversee budgeting, reporting, and compliance across all funding types. Working collaboratively with Curatorial, Education & Engagement, and Program teams, the Grants Manager serves as the chief narrative strategist, transforming exhibitions, community engagements, and educational initiatives into compelling, data-informed grant proposals that resonate with each funding source. The role also serves as the primary writer for the Development team, crafting persuasive content for campaigns, donor relations, membership, and major events to strengthen the museum’s relationship with its broader community.
