Our innovative programs leverage partnerships, philanthropy, and federal resources to ensure every veteran has a path to stability. MACV is recognized statewide and nationally for its effective solutions to complex housing and homelessness challenges.

Position Overview The Grants Manager is a key member of MACV’s Development team that consists of a development director, communications coordinator, and grants manager (this position). The grants manager is responsible for managing, sustaining, and growing revenue from public and private institutions including government agencies, foundations, and corporate funders. This position requires strong project management, writing, and technical skills, as well as the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners. Key Responsibilities

Maintain a technology-enhanced grant calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting. Relationship Management and Coordination Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders as it relates to grant application processes, including government agencies, foundations, and corporate partners. Collaborate with the development team and other key members of the MACV team to steward funders through site visits, events, and regular updates. Serve as a liaison between funders and internal teams to ensure alignment and transparency between funding opportunities and highest priority areas of need. Proposal Development and Writing Carry out all aspects of proposal creation including writing, compiling required documentation, and budgeting in coordination with finance staff. Collaborate cross-functionally to gather data, client stories, and program impact to craft compelling narratives. Innovate and improve grant-writing processes leveraging AI tools and large language models to assist in efficiently drafting quality content for grant applications, letters, and other written materials. Understand limitations of AI tools and maintain human oversight on critical tasks (final review, customization, compliance, and submission). Reporting & Compliance Ensure timely and accurate submission of grant reports and compliance documentation. Maintain detailed records in Salesforce and other systems, including contacts, awards, payments, and reporting schedules. Prospect Research & Fund Development Conduct ongoing research to identify new institutional funding opportunities, including government RFPs, private foundations, corporate giving programs, and community grants. Analyze funder priorities, giving history, and alignment with MACV’s mission to develop targeted outreach strategies. Build and maintain a prospect pipeline using available resources and tools, tracking potential funders through stages of cultivation, proposal development, and stewardship. Requirements Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, public administration, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years of professional grant writing and management experience, including government and philanthropic grants. Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple complex projects independently. Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
