Overview

The Cost Accountant supports the financial integrity and operational performance of the company by overseeing product costing, inventory valuation, and cash flow analysis. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic decisions across manufacturing, operations, and supply chain functions within the vitamin and supplement production environment. Base pay range

$60,000.00/yr - $99,600.00/yr Responsibilities

Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods within the manufacturing process. Perform detailed cost variance analysis (material, labor, and overhead) to support production efficiency and margin improvement. Reconcile inventory balances between the general ledger, sub-ledger, and physical counts to ensure accuracy and compliance. Assist with monthly and quarterly closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations related to inventory and cost of goods sold. Support cash flow forecasting by providing insights into inventory levels, production schedules, and working capital requirements. Monitor and analyze working capital metrics, including inventory turnover and days on hand, to drive operational efficiency. Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and inventory movements between production and distribution entities. Assist in the tracking, capitalization, and depreciation of fixed assets related to manufacturing operations and facility improvements. Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement teams to review product costing, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve inventory control processes. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards related to manufacturing cost accounting. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 1-5 years of experience in cost or inventory accounting, preferably in a

manufacturing or consumer goods

environment. Proficiency with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced production environment. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing and consumer goods is preferred. CPA or CMA certification (or progress toward certification) a plus. Compensation and Benefits
