Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain cost models for pricing and profitability analysis. Conduct Work-in-Progress (WIP) Analysis to monitor and evaluate costs associated with unfinished goods, ensuring accurate allocation of labor, materials, and overhead to WIP inventory. Perform Purchase Price Variance (PPV) Analysis to assess and explain the differences between actual and standard purchase costs. Maintain sub-ledger activities, including inventory, work-in-progress (WIP), and bills of materials (BOMs). Partner with Warehouse/Inventory Control on cycle counts and physical inventories. Analyze and maintain inventory valuation and cost fluctuations. Review monthly inventory details to identify excess/obsolete items and record related journal entries (e.g., maintaining E&O reserve). Compile, analyze, and communicate monthly scrap and shrinkage results by plant, identifying areas for scrap reduction. Assist with the monthly financial close process for inventory related entries. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close. Assist in preparing month-end and year-end reports. Provide full support during company financial audits and respond to internal/external audit requests. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, etc.) to address issues and optimize processes. Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 5+ years of job-related work experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTable, SUMIF) and financial reporting tools. Knowledge of SAP is a plus. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
