Overview
We are currently in search of a full-time Senior Accountant to join Eagle Construction of VA. This position offers excellent benefits, paid time off, and work/life balance.
Base pay range $65,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations for all types of accounts, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets and intangibles, to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger reliability.
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
Support month-end and year-end close process
Produce complex accounting reports and present their results
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
Provide technical support and advice to Controller, Director, and CFO and ensure compliance with GAAP principles
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
Assist with tax audits and tax returns. Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Communicate with our outside partners to improve financial procedures
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, Staff Accountant
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Interest in homebuilding and Land Development
Familiarity with financial accounting statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Hands-on experience with enterprise level accounting software packages (IHMS experience a plus)
Advanced MS Excel skills including Queries, Vlookups and pivot tables
Accuracy and attention to detail with an aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant experience
