LHRM operates from a single office in Beachwood, Ohio, with a team of fewer than 10 professionals. SUMMARY: Reporting to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer, the Senior Accountant will serve as the primary accounting professional for a growing private equity and real estate investment firm in Beachwood, OH. The role is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle across multiple entities, preparing and analyzing financial statements, and providing insights that support investment and portfolio decisions. It offers high visibility with direct interaction with leadership, auditors, tax advisors, investors, and external partners, while also contributing to fund-level reporting, compliance, and property performance review. RESPONSIBILITES: Manage the full accounting cycle from start to finish for multiple entities, including journal entries, monthly close, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements in QuickBooks. Prepare, review, and analyze financial results to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, providing insights to management. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions with accuracy and timeliness. Partner with the CFO to prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and ongoing financial modeling. Process, track, and report on management fees and other fund- or entity-level economics. Conduct cash management and treasury functions, including monitoring liquidity, expenses, and capital calls/distributions. Support all aspects of fund-level accounting, including investor transactions, reporting, and compliance using Juniper Square or similar investor portal platforms. Coordinate annual audit and tax processes, serving as the primary liaison with auditors and tax preparers. Administer payroll and employee-related financial functions, maintaining strict confidentiality. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; prepare and file regulatory and SEC-related documents as required. Monitor, review, and analyze the financial performance of select portfolio properties to ensure value is maximized. Maintain and continuously improve internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate risk, and support accurate reporting. Serve as the primary point of contact for accounting and finance-related inquiries internally and externally, acting with independence and accountability. Perform additional accounting, financial analysis, and asset management responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or progress toward CPA preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required; specific experience in private equity, real estate investment, or fund accounting highly preferred. Proficiency with QuickBooks highly preferred; experience with Juniper Square or other investor reporting platforms a plus. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, analysis, and fund-level economics required. Ability to independently manage the full accounting cycle while producing accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements required. Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights required. Excellent attention to detail, organizational, complex multi-tasking skills required. Excellent communication skills, demonstrating capability of working closely with executives and external partners required. A self-starter, with the ability to work independently as the primary accounting function in a lean organization highly preferred. Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality required. Ability to work on-site at the company’s Beachwood, OH office required.
