Our client, an early-stage fintech startup with a strong and visionary management team, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing organization. This newly created role offers the opportunity to support the expansion of the business while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Based in New York, this hybrid position is ideal for a proactive professional eager to make an impact and grow alongside an innovative fintech company! Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to support business growth. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Support audit and tax preparation with external auditors and tax advisors. Implement and optimize accounting systems and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Ramp). Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred. 2-4 years of accounting experience, either from public accounting or at a startup. Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience with fintech or financial services is a plus. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel; familiarity with automation tools is a bonus.
