Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Contract Accounting Analyst to support our finance team in Knoxville, TN. This contract role is ideal for a professional with strong accounting skills and a keen eye for accuracy, looking to contribute to a dynamic organization. Key Responsibilities
Perform general ledger accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support decision-making. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies. Maintain and update financial records in accordance with GAAP. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a contract or project-based accounting role. Familiarity with financial reporting tools and ERP systems. CPA or progress toward certification is a plus. Seniority level
