Position
Sr. Financial Analyst – Precision Castparts – Framingham, MA
Purpose Responsible for understanding and interpreting Plant financial information and analysis, including actuals, plans, forecasts, and capital analysis. Lead role in forecasting, planning, and project analysis. Assist with monthly closing and preparation of financial reports to Corporate and Division.
Essential Job Functions
Analysis and forecasting of financial results: understand and interpret financial information, including daily, weekly, and monthly actuals, plans, and forecasts.
Primary responsibility for forecasting, working with the Plant Controller, GM, and Executive Team to understand and quantify business issues and their impact on future results.
Prepare and update forecast files.
Support Plant management and PCC reporting processes by providing input to, and helping to ensure the integrity of, financial reports and analysis, and by promptly disclosing issues and exposures.
Preparation and analysis of standard PCC financial reports, including monthly and quarterly operating packages, quarterly financial package, daily/weekly/monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash flow.
Key role in general and cost accounting processes: participate in monthly close process; responsible for cost accounting processes – hourly cost rates, work order variance analysis, standard cost rolls, inventory controlling.
Investment / decision support analysis: analyze capital expenditures and other investment decisions; provide decision support for special projects such as departmental subcontracting, reorganizations, customer contracts.
Work closely with Plant management to identify key risks and alternatives.
Requirements
B.S. in Accounting or Finance.
5-10 years of business experience.
Exceptional analytical ability, sound business judgment, effective presentation and communication skills.
Special Skills and Physical Requirements
Manufacturing environment experience.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting processes in a standard costing environment.
Experience with mid to large ERP systems.
Exposure to SOX in a public company environment.
Exposure to modern manufacturing tools (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
